Karl Lagerfeld was presenting today the Paris-Moscou collection (Métiers d'Arts Collections) at the Théâtre Le Renelagh in Paris ( 5, rue des Vignes in the 16e arrondissement).
Here are some stills taken from the silent movie - inspired by Mack Sennett’s black-and-white silent movies - that opened the fashion show.
The silent movie is about Coco Chanel’s love story with the Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich, and it features models Edita Vilkeviciute as Gabrielle Chanel and Brad Koening as the Grand Duke. It also features Lady Amanda Harlesch and her daughter Tallulah Ormsby-Gore and a few seamstresses playing the role of women working at the Chanel Atelier (Karl Lagerfeld would not use extras as they "didn't know how to touch the clothes") amongst others. The short film is very well made and not tacky at all.
There is a podcast on www.chanel.com and the whole movie will be available from Dec. 5th on the Chanel website.
to be continued...
