CHANEL PARIS-SHANGHAI ACCESSORIES
For some years, CHANEL has been ensuring the destinies and preservation of the skills of the Maisons d'Art: metal worker Desrues, feather maker Lemarié, embroiderer Lesage, shoemaker Massaro, milliner Michel, goldsmith Goossens and flower maker Guillet.
Since 2002, Karl Lagerfeld has dedicated an annual collection to them, presented in exclusivity in a city that is part of, or is destined to leave its mark on, the history of the brand.
In Shanghai on December 3rd, he unveiled his 8th edition of this collection, called "Paris Shanghai".
Shanghai is a city in constant evolution, a cosmopolitan theater to an extraordinary cultural boom, and where CHANEL has recently inaugurated its third point of sale in continental China over an impressive 480m2.
As a prelude to the show, the film "PARIS SHANGHAI, A FANTASY", written and directed by Karl Lagerfeld, tells the story of Coco Chanel's imagined voyage to China.
This collection brings together the expert skill of these Parisian artisans and the CHANEL ateliers to make a true French luxury. On an 85 meter long barge set on the Huangpu river bordering the Bund, more than thirty models have come from the four corners of the globe to bring Karl Lagerfeld's tableau to life.
With Pudong's skyscrapers making a backdrop, Karl Lagerfeld revisits the Eastern Empire to give us his contemporary vision of CHANEL.
One by one, his inspirations appear - the "Terracotta Army", the heroins of Hollywood cinéma, the urban romanticism of Chinese cinema, the glittering chic of the 1930s and the opulence of the imperial court. The slim sleeves hint at the shape of pagodas, the waist is small and slightly structured, the ruffles build up over one another. In black, red, khaki and midnight blue, the high-collared suits, richly embroidered fitted coats, knitwear with raised patterns, tunics and sequined gowns give structure to shoulders and slim the waist.
Accessories have not been forgotten. Long earrings and large pointed hats frame the face.
Necklaces, brooches and cuff bracelets abound, bringing together pearls, coins and stones with opulence. On feet we see leather boots with aged cork sole, others in embroidered felt reaching the thigh, and precious sandals with sculpted heels. Bags, whether embroidered, sequined, in lambskin or in satin, are reinvented in a multitude of colors to create a fantasy.

Depuis 2002, Karl Lagerfeld leur dédie une collection
annuelle, présentée en exclusivité dans une capitale qui s’inscrit qui est vouée à laisser son empreinte dans l’histoire de la Marque. C’est à Shanghai que le 3 décembre, il a dévoilé cette huitième édition, baptisée « Paris - Shanghai ».
Shanghai, une ville en constante mutation, théâtre cosmopolite d’un formidable essor culturel où CHANEL inaugure son troisième point de vente en Chine Continentale, véritable vaisseau amiral de 480m2.
En prélude au défilé, le film "PARIS SHANGHAI, A FANTASY", écrit et réalisé par Karl Lagerfeld, retrace le voyage onirique de Coco Chanel en Chine.
Cette collection conjugue à l’expertise des artisans parisiens et des ateliers de CHANEL le luxe à la française.
Sur une barge de 85 mètres, posée sur la rivière Huangpu qui longe le Bund, plus de trente mannequins venus des quatre coins du globe ont interprété un véritable tableau vivant.
Avec pour toile de fond les gratte-ciel de Pudong, c’est tout l’Empire du Milieu que Karl Lagerfeld revisite pour nous donner une vision contemporaine du registre de CHANEL.
Tour à tour, il évoque l’épure des « Soldats de l’Eternité », les héroïnes du cinéma hollywoodien, le romantisme urbain du cinéma chinois, le chic mondain des années 30 ou l’opulence des cours impériales. Les manches étroites esquissent un mouvement
de pagode, la taille est fine et légèrement structurée, les volants jouent les superpositions.
Déclinés en noir, rouge, kaki, bleu nuit, les costumes à col montant, les redingotes richement brodées, la maille « en relief », ou les fourreaux pailletés, structurent les épaules et affinent la taille.
Les accessoires ne sont pas en reste. En tête, de longs pendants d’oreille encadrant le visage et des larges chapeaux pointus posés sur la chevelure. Les sautoirs, broches et manchettes en profusion marient avec opulence perles, pièces et pierres. Aux pieds, des bottes de cuir sur semelle de liège à effet vieillit, des cuissardes de feutre brodé, et des sandales précieuses au talon sculpté. Quant aux sacs, brodés, en agneau ou en satin, ils se réinventent dans une multitude de couleurs et s’autorisent quelques fantaisies.
