The new Chanel Cruise 2010 collection is of Venetian inspiration (Baroque, Byzantine, Red Renaissance). A sophisticated proposition with quite an original use of techniques and materials.
Why Venice ? Because Mademoiselle Chanel had a passion for Venice; she enjoyed the strong inspiration of the Italian city and its ornamental richness of Baroque & Byzantine styles you can admire in Venitian Palaces or Basilica, and the graphic shapes of gondolas & navy stripes inspired by the gondolas drivers.
For the Costume Jewelry exclusive techniques and designs were used : smoked effects, use of natural stones like marble and plexi with a very sophistaced of work (very detailed CJ similar to fine jewelry).

Thanks so much for all these wonderful pictures. I love the lace Camelia pumps (does it have other colors aside from black?) and also the Barocco and Stellina broches!! Haha...looks like I need to plan my purchases now.
